Last year around this time, we were together, chilling, telling stories, laughing like crazy, in Manhattan at my friend Kanvar's restaurant, with my brother Sanjay Chitale and Madhurima. Then again we met around my birthday and with my family the Vaswanis, and Neetu ji.. I used to love it when he'd openly say, I love this man. ? And he'd repeatedly say that. He also loved the fact that people said Nevaan has a striking resemblance to him when he was a child and Ranbir has the same with me. His stories were full of learning and minute observation. I can talk all the more about him now, now that I am in the process of reading his autobiography Khullam Khulla. Infact last night I was watching the courtroom scene of Damini coincidently. This morning I was discussing him with Farah when she got the news of his demise. I think he and me had a strange connection. He kept telling the world even 21 years later that he was so touched when I refused to charge money for the song I sang for his film Aa Ab Laut Chalen…He was a true Blue Blooded Star and one of the greatest actor. We'll laugh and chill together again, Somewhere Sir . ?

Socho kabhi aisa ho toh kya ho… This morning. Unbelievable.Unacceptable. Unbearable. ………………… Friend. Favorite actor. Childhood crush. Which I never told him. He would have laughed that hearty laugh of his and said: "don't be silly yaar Archie"! The last time we met we spoke for 2 hours. Never had a more entertaining 2 hours. Never knew that would be the last time…

Been trying to write something n I can’t put my mind n hands in sync. More like the heart in between is just not able to comprehend this. That laugh, that sense of humour, the honesty and even the bully he was , will be missed. No one like you #RishiKapoor

Thank you life for allowing me some time in the presence of these legends. Standing in their shadow. Looking at them in wonder. Each a rare gem. Authentic. True to who they were – always unapologetic , unflinching and supremely talented. Words fail , Heart hurts … Alvida ❤️ pic.twitter.com/EQ9Cs9bzh9

No one treated me with the respect an actor gives a director more than you did, that too being who you were. You were my friend sir. I’m sitting, remembering and just chuckling, laughing. Waiting for your booming voice to say “boy… make me one more drink!” #RishiKapoor #RIP

On Kaanchi, I asked Subhash Ji to let me assist him. I took the clapboard duty to be able to stand as close to Rishi Sir as possible. I’m blessed to have witnessed that spontaneity, energy and true greatness up close. Rishi sir’s charm was magnetic.
