Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji came together in 2005 for the ever-popular ‘Bunty Aur Babli’, directed by Shaad Ali. As rumours about the sequel do the rounds, it seems producers Yash Raj Films have denied that the two original stars will reunite in the second part.
A source had told India Today, “Bunty Aur Babli sequel has been on cards for quite some time now. But it was only recently that the things were taken forward. Aditya Chopra himself is looking into this and the pre-production work has already started. Both Rani and Abhishek are more than keen to do this project and have given their nod for it. However, it wont be directed by Shaad. Who is helming this sequel is still not revealed. But the plot has been finalised and the shoot schedule is being planned. If everything works out well, then the movie will tentatively go on-floors in November, this year”.
However, in contrast, YRF had released a statement saying, “Bunty Aur Babli is one of Aditya Chopra’s favourite YRF film and he has always wanted to make a sequel to the much loved movie. However, currently there is no locked script or locked cast for the same”.
