Brazilian model Giselli Monteiro quits Bollywood

Brazilian model Giselli Monteiro, who made her debut in Bollywood with ‘Love Aaj Kal’ (2009) has quit the Indian film industry.

Monteiro had little success post ‘Love Aaj Kal’ with ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ (2011). However, she has now decided to leave Bollywood to study architecture at the University of Vila Velha, in Espirito Santo (Brazil).

Talking to Hindustan Times, Giselli said, “Love Aaj Kal happened within the first month of me coming to India to [work as a] model. The film did well, for which I am grateful. Always Kabhi Kabhi didn�۪t turn out as we expected [it to], but there were other requests thereafter. I was also modelling and doing endorsements side-by-side. But to be honest, I never intended to be in films.”
