Box Office: ‘Super Singh’ fares better than ‘Bank Chor’

Its the lull period at the box office ahead of next week’s huge Eid release, ‘Tubelight’.

This weekend has seen around 5-6 releases with Punjabi superhero film ‘Super Singh’ starring Diljit Dosanjh turning out to be the biggest release out of the others. Comedy ‘Bank Chor’ starring Riteish Deshmukh has opened up better than the other Hindid films released.

According to Box Office India, ‘Bank Chor’ had a low occupancy of 5-10%. Despite a small opening, its recovered 75% of its investment from satellite and digital rights. If the film’s numbers remain small over the weekend, it could prove detrimental in the film’s fate at the box office.

‘Super Singh’ has opened well and could become the biggest Punjabi film opener if its get a surge in this evening’s box office collections. ‘Super Singh’ may also emerge as the biggest film of the weekend despite being screened at 350 theatres, compared to 700 for ‘Bank Chor’.
