Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Padmavati’ has been embroiled in controversy, with protests and threats against the epic drama.
After its release was deferred from the 1st of December, it now seems the film will only release in early 2018. Reports indicate that producers will put their promotional strategies on hold, hoping for calm before another release date has been confirmed.
Furthermore, this will give the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to clear the film for release.
CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi briefly spoke about the situation on Monday. Earlier there were reports that the documentation for certification clearance was not completed correctly. He said, “We are trying to follow the due process. We should sort out the issue through dialogue, not through arguments.”
