Box Office: ‘Malang’ has a fair start in India

Mohit Suri’s latest release ‘Malang’ has had a decent start at the box office, considering its relatively new star cast.

According to Box Office India, the Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor and Disha Patani starrer, had an opening of around 15-20%. However, it is not known how the film will do in the coming few days – it will depend wholly on word of mouth.

The second release this weekend is ‘Shikara’, which has had a dull start with around 5% opening. Despite Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron endorsing the film, it has not been able to garner the response its makers were expecting.

Other smaller films ‘Hacked’, ‘Kaanchli’ and ‘Taanashah’ were unable to create any impact.
