Box Office: ‘Kapoor & Sons’ surprises with dull opening

This week sees the release of ��Kapoor and Sons�۪, starring Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Surprisingly, the film has had a dull opening day so far in the sub-continent.

Produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Shakun Batra, the film�۪s trailers and music have delivered an average response with the audiences. Box Office India reports that the film is achieving around 15-20% occupancy which is similar to what was achieved by ��Jai Gangaajal�۪ (2015). It is expected that ��Kapoor and Sons�۪ will rely on word of mouth and reviews in order for the day�۪s business to kick up and then reflect on the weekend.

Last week�۪s ��Teraa Suroor�۪ has made around 6.75 crore which is pretty low. ��Jai Gangaajal�۪ has reached around 30 crore in two weeks but ��Neerja�۪ still seems to be going strong a month after its release with 5.5 crore achieved this week.
