Bollywood celebs, Ministers evacuated as fire breaks out at ‘Make in India’ event
In a hugely unfortunate incident, a huge fire has broken out at a ‘Make in India’ cultural stage event in Mumbai.Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao were present at the event as were many Bollywood celebrities who were to perform.
According to Aaj Tak, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Aamir Khan were there during the event as were many others. All of the well-known names, Ministers, artistes and audiences have been evacuated from the area. The whole stage is thought to have caught fire – possibly due to the fireworks stored nearby for a display later – after the Laavni dance took place. Live pictures show the stage absolutely engulfed in flames with lighting equipment above hanging in balance.
Armaan Mallik was also at the event. He recently tweeted:
I’m ok guys ..I got out in time. my family and I are all safe. I hope every worker there on the stage are ok.Sad & unfortunate what happened

Authorities have told everyone involved to move away from the fire and leave the event as firefighters try to bring the flames under control. There have been no casualties reported yet.
Yesterday, Bachchan has posted on Twitter that he had attended rehearsals for the event and PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Make in India’ week too.
UPDATED at 21:37 (IST): Reports suggest the fire is now under control at Chowpatty where the stage was set up.
