Bobby Friction praises Asian Network despite “massive problems with some parts in BBC”

Bobby Friction has waded in the ongoing debate about racial inequality in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement.

In a couple of tweets shared today, Friction, who fronts a weekday evening show on the BBC Asian Network said, “This entire planet is a white middle class playground. That feeling…of knowing the world is yours…is something most of us won’t ever experience unless we shift out perspective radically.”

He added, “I will however (even though I have massive problems with some parts & practices in the BBC) thank the @bbcasiannetwork for letting me broadcast in a free range manner for many years. They’ve let me navigate around the privilege in UK music & helped me keep my show authentic.x”

Friction has been the flag-bearer for new artists and alternative music sounds on the Asian Network. Without delving into the political aspect of the issues he has with “parts and practices in the BBC”, he praised the Asian Network for letting him the flexibility of broadcasting in his own style.
