BizAsia Birthday Special: Varun Dhawan turns 30

Varun Dhawan has not been in the industry for long yet he has managed to win over the hearts of many with his fun personality and his choice of roles. As well as this he has had the chance to work with a number of gorgeous ladies such as Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Huma Qureshi.

This year on the 24th April Dhawan will be turning 30 therefore to celebrate this occasion BizAsiaLive.com  looks at his pairings with five actresses he has worked with recently.

Ileana D’Cruz
It was the first time that D’Cruz and Dhawan were seen together in the romantic comedy ‘Main Tera Hero’ (2014). The story revolved around Seenu (Dhawan) who sees Sunaina (D’Cruz) at college and instantly falls for her unaware that a corrupt police officer named Angad (Arunoday Singh) has his eyes on her. Dhawan’s character in the film had a playful side to him while D’Cruz was the sweet troubled girl who needed rescuing. In the song tera hero idhar hai, Dhawan is seen using his charm to try and get D’Cruz to notice him while she tries all she can to ignore him.

The chemistry between them in this song reminded one of the films from the 90’s where the hero woos the girl with a romantic number.  The film was wacky and entertaining and their pairing was most definitely interesting.

Alia Bhatt
Most Bollywood fans will agree that Bhatt and Dhawan is one pairing that works really well. They have worked together in at least three films and all films have done tremendously well at the box office. Since their first film ‘Student of the year’ (2012) they have managed to keep that same magic alive in their other films. Perhaps it’s the fact that they get on really well in real life that it helps their chemistry onscreen.

It is not only in films that they have worked together in fact they have been brought together a number of times for various adverts. Each advert was different but they were fun and entertaining to watch.

They were last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ (2017) which is a sequel to the 2014 film ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’.

Shraddha Kapoor
Kapoor and Dhawan are not only good friends but they also share the same passion which is dancing. Since his début Dhawan has been seen performing in a lot of award shows leaving the audiences mesmerised by his entertaining performances.

The film ‘ABCD 2’ (2015) was about a group of dancers who want to take part in a dancing competition but in order to taste success they require the help of a dancing legend named Vishnu (Prabhudeva).

Along the way the dance crew face many trials with their trust being shattered and at times their friendship being questioned. As time progresses Saru (Dhawan) and Vinnie (Kapoor) also see a change in their relationship when another dancer named Olive (Lauren Gottlieb) enters their team.

Both Kapoor and Dhawan were appreciated for their incredible dancing skills and the audience really liked their pairing. They haven’t worked together since but hopefully in the future they may collaborate again in another project.

Kriti Sanon
In Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ (2015) Dhawan and Sanon were seen playing the younger siblings to Kajol and Shahrukh Khan. It seemed as though the director wanted to cater to all audiences so for the 90’s fans he had the ever popular jodi of Khan and Kajol and for the new generation the combination of Dhawan and Sanon.

The stylishly, beautiful Sanon looked good next to the hip Dhawan. Although the film seemed to focus more on Kajol and Khan’s characters the young pair did manage to have some entertaining moments on screen. Sanon’s character Ishita is a strong minded young woman with an honest heart. Veer (Dhawan) is a little naive at times but his love for the people around him is immense.

The most popular scene of theirs was when Veer (Dhawan) proposes to Ishita (Sanon) using some creative placards as well as imitating the famous Khan pose.

Parineeti Chopra
After taking a small break from films Chopra made an appearance in the song jaaneman aah in the 2016 film ‘Dishoom’. Dhawan who is known to be an extremely talented dancer was seen dancing with Chopra who looked amazing with her new toned physique. There were mixed reviews about the song as some felt that the song was just an excuse to show off Chopra’s figure and wasn’t all that entertaining. However Dhawan’s performance in the song was full of energy and he perfected every dance step with Chopra adding charisma to the song.

Jaaneman aah can be considered a teaser of what it would be like if these two individuals worked together. Perhaps in the future their fans may be lucky enough to see the two in a film where more is seen in terms of their acting.

BizAsiaLive.com wishes Varun Dhawan a happy 30th birthday and all the very best for ‘Judwaa 2’.
