Biz Bitch – Weekly Column

New to BizAsia.co.uk is our weekly column Biz Bitch. We’ll be scouting around for silly blunders in UK Asian TV, radio and press and bringing them to you.

We’re watching and listening closer than ever to keep certain organisations on their tod! If you spot anything out of place, the time is here now to name and shame…The Biz Bitch!

We committed the faux pas of tuning into ‘Love Bollywood’ on Sunday morning (13th July) after aeons. The usual talking over each other and horrid pronunciations – “Teri Orr” from ‘Singh Is Kinng’ uttered as “Teri Oooray” and “Oodhni”!

The show wasn’t without its share of glitches…When ‘Mere Baap Pehle Aap’ was announced as the No.2 film of the Indian Box-office, a music piece from ‘Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic’ came up! You would think they’d get it right the second time round! Apologising for the goof-up, the presenters or producers then went on to play “Maari Teetri” from ‘De Taali’ only to realise that they had erred yet again! Help!

Over on Sunrise Radio, there was embarrassment of a different kind. On Saturday night (12th July), Sunrise Radio 21:00 – 00:00, there was none of the usual Maya Mistry perkiness…Instead there was a new older voice calling herself “Sandy Khanna”…taking British-Asian radio to a new low…

The poor thing couldn’t string a single sentence of English and continued wishing listeners “Good Afternoon” at 22:00!!

Good Morning madame presenter!
