‘Big Brother’ to return to UK screens after rumours of talks with ITV?

Popular reality show ‘Big Brother’ is reportedly set to return to UK television screens after rumours of talks with ITV surfaced online over the weekend.

The series originally aired on Channel 4 between 2000 until 2010. It later moved to Channel 5 until 2018. Since then, the show has been off our screens. It now looks the iconic show will return on ITV2.

Rumours suggest that the show will make a comeback in 2023 and will air after ‘Love Island’. As well as ITV2, ‘Big Brother’ is expected to also stream on ITV’s new digital streaming platform, ITVX.

A source told The Sun, “They think putting it on ITV2 will open it up to a new audience and legion of younger fans. They are really keen on getting the deal done on Big Brother, and hope to have something firm to announce soon. The talks are still at an early, and delicate, stage and the next few weeks will be key. It needs the full treatment and they’re confident they are the ones who can return it to its legendary former glory. It has millions of fans and is one of the most iconic TV shows of its generation.”

One of the most controversial moments of ‘Big Brother’ history was a racism row that erupted between Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Jade Goody. The scenes, which aired in 2007 created international hysteria.
