The recently married Kareena Kapoor has always been known for her unmatchable style. What with Halkat Jawani in ‘Heroine’ and also the style-statement-creating Fevicol Se in ‘Dabangg 2’, she has well and trulygained the tag of item girl. BizAsia can reveal that the actress will be seen in no less than four item numbers in forthcoming flick ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’.
The film, which will be directed by Punit Malhotra, will see Kapoor paired with Imran Khan for the second time. The film initially had casting issues but finally Kapoor and Khan have been confirmed. Shraddha Kapoor is also set to star with the two.
Produced under the Dharma Productions banner, music for the film will be composed by preppy duo Vishal-Shekhar who did an immensely grand job with the soundtrack for ‘Student of the Year’ last year.
Kapoor is perhaps one of the first actresses in recent times to do item songs in films that she is also a female lead in.This goes against the usual conventions of Indian cinema whereby an item number is usually performed by a separate entity who doesn’t necessarily appear in the film with a huge role – mostly with no role whatsoever aside from being a part of a said song.
No doubt the item numbers in ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ will be the talk of the town forB-town’s now married item-girl.
