This Bank Holiday weekend the BBC Asian Network is going Bhangra mad with hours of pure desi beats from the UK’s biggest music artists.

Tune in tomorrow (Saturday evening) to hear a rare full-hour long live session from classic Bhangra band Alaap. The performance was recorded two days ago in Birmingham to an invited audience of just 30 people.

Saturday: Sound Selection 6-8pm: Alaap Live Session presented by Markie Mark, featuring an interview with lead singer Channi Singh.

Markie Mark also has three special guests on his Breakdown show on Sunday – in the first hour he’s joined by guest presenters Bally & Bhota Jagpal, and the second hour is dedicated to Jazzy B. Tune in to a full hour long interview with the Crown Prince Of Panjab as Markie finds out about his early days in Panjab, Bhangra beginnings in Vancouver and his move towards India stardom.
