Badshah gives Rs. 5 lakh to Ratan Kahar over Genda Phool row

Badshah has paid Rs. 5 lakh to Ratan Kahar, a Birbhum-based folk singer, who originally recorded the rapper’s latest song ‘Genda Phool’.

Hindustan Times reports that Badshah got in touch with Kahar on Friday via video call to obtain his bank details and deposit the money in by Monday. Upon receiving the money, Kahar is said to have called Badshah to thank him personally and invite him at his residence.

It was during a recent interview with IANS, Kahar accused Badshah of plagiarism of using his song ‘Boro Loker Biti Lo’. He said, “I want Badshah to come over to my place and talk to me. I would first like to thank him for using my song. I am also eager to discuss music with him if he has the time.”

At that time, Badshah took to social media to express that he would do “whatever possible on my part on humanitarian grounds to put this right.”
