Bachchans, Ekta Kapoor cancel Diwali parties amidst pandemic?

Reportedly, the Diwali party which is held annually on the occasion by the Bachchans has been cancelled and Ekta Kapoor has also followed suit and cancelled her gathering.

Hindustan Times reports that the Bachchans and the Kapoors have cancelled the events due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as well as in light of such losses of cinema greats this year like Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan.

Work on the film and TV front began again only in August but otherwise the last few months have taken their toll on the industry somewhat.

Diwali will look different this year, similarly to Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday today which usually sees a gathering of crowds outside his residence on Mannat. The actor requested his well-wishers not to come together this year and adhere by the government guidelines.
