B4U Network announces launch of B4U Plus in UK

After revealing plans of its new channel first on BizAsiaLive.com, B4U Network has today announced that it will be launching its first general entertainment channel (GEC), B4U Plus this month in the UK market.

The channel will go on-air on Friday 15th April, which will focus on drama serials and lifestyle shows. The channel will be a hybrid service consisting of both Pakistani and Indian content, with dramas full of suspense and international cutting-edge content.

Whilst there will be a touch of Bollywood on B4U Plus, the new channel is a move away from B4U Network’s usual channel ethos of non-stop movies and music, instead the channel falls under the GEC category with a strong emphasis on Pakistani drama series.

Identifying the shift of viewing habits, B4U Plus is a female-centric channel focusing on content that is suited to today’s loyal television viewers. Having launched the channel in the middle-east six years ago, B4U Plus has soared and become one of the leading channels in the MENA region. With this success in mind, B4U is excited to see how the channel will be received in the UK.

Ashok Shenoy, B4U Head – International Business States, “In an era where there are many shifts in the broadcast industry, to launch a new channel was a big decision for us. However, we are confident that the persona of our new channel B4U Plus will fill a gap in the ethnic TV market and cater to a loyal target audience. We have acquired great international content, including high quality drama series that we are certain B4U Plus will be well received by our viewers.”

B4U Plus will be available on Sky channel 738, replacing A Plus Europe.
