Ayushmann Khurrana’s next based on Section 377?

It only takes one look at Ayushmann Khurrana’s filmography to see he is an actor that has carved a niche for himself beyond that of his contemporaries.

Having made eccentric choices with films like ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012), ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ (2015), and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ (2017), Khurrana has been one to never shy away from being a part of projects that touch on social taboos.

Khurrana who has two releases this year; ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Badhai Ho’ was recently cited talking about the recent Section 377 court ruling. He said, “I feel the SC’s decision regarding Section 377 is historic to say the least, and it was long overdue. The decision shows that the nation is getting progressive in its thoughts. Perhaps it will strengthen our belief in the judicial system. But then, there are smaller battles yet to be fought. Those will only be won when everyone understands the social implications of the SC’s decision and accepts it wholeheartedly.”

He further went onto add how important it was to work on such a subject and if a film was being made on it he would want to be a part of it.

Judging from Khurrana’s non conventional role choices, this just might be another one he pulls off.
