Ayushmann Khurrana: “You don’t have to be a star kid to survive”

Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana made a successful transition from RJ and television host to the world of Bollywood. Khurrana believes that the film industry is going through a good time and, contrary to popular belief, not being a “star kid” has not negatively impacted his career.

PTI quote the actor as saying, “I think it is the best phase of Indian cinema you don’t have to be a star kid to survive or get launched in the industry. This is not just for actors but for everyone like directors, writers, lyricists and others…I am glad I am here today. If I was born 15 years back, then I don’t think I would get a chance that a star kid would have got.”

Khurrana surprised everyone with his impressive debut in 2012’s ‘Vicky Donor’. While the actor went through a somewhat low phase following his debut, he bounced back with ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ (2015).

His upcoming projects include ‘Manmarziyan’ opposite Bhumi Pednekar, and ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ with Parineeti Chopra.
