Asha Bhosle passes away; aged 92
Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai. She died on Sunday at Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been admitted the previous day following a sudden decline in her health.
Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news of her death, saying, “She is no more. Her last rites will be held at 4 P.M. tomorrow at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.”
Asha Bhosle had been taken to hospital on Saturday, 11 April, after experiencing severe exhaustion and a chest infection. Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, wrote on X that the veteran singer had been admitted due to “extreme exhaustion and a chest infection”, prompting immediate medical attention.
