Asha Bhosle accorded state honours at funeral in Mumbai
The world bid farewell to legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle on Monday as she was laid to rest with full state honours in Mumbai. The 92‑year‑old icon, whose voice shaped the sound of Indian cinema for more than eight decades, received a ceremonial tribute reflecting her extraordinary contribution to music and culture.
Her mortal remains were brought to Shivaji Park, where the final rites were performed in the presence of family members, dignitaries and figures from the film and music industries. A guard of honour was presented as part of the state tribute, underscoring the national significance of her artistic legacy.
