‘Article 15’ faces opposition from Gujarat Brahm Samaj organisation

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Article 15’ has been receiving much praise and accolades from critics and the Bollywood fraternity, but it looks like it also has gotten its share of opposition. The organization Shree Samast Gujarat Brahm Samaj alleges that the film has “twisted” the facts around the real incident that the film is based upon. They are protesting to ban the film in Gujarat.

The Indian Express reports Chaitanya Shambhu Maharaj, President of the Shree Samast Gujarat Brahm Samaj saying, “Although the movie claims to be based on a real incident, they have twisted the facts to create a discord between Brahmin and Dalit communities and further wedge the gap between them.”

Convener Yagnesh Dave also said, “After the protest, we submitted a memorandum to the director of the Gujarat Multiplex Association, demanding for an immediate ban on the film across the state. Our protest will continue if the movie is released this Friday”.
