When actors sign a film, they commit themselves to more than just repeating lines from a page. At times they find that they have to completely change themselves in order to become the character they’ve agreed to play. Which is exactly what Arjun Rampal is doing for two of his forthcoming ventures. However, both films require the actor to have the complete opposite looks.

Set the play the role of gangster turned politician Arun Gawli, Rampal has had to loose a lot of weight, however in another film titled ‘Love Affair’ (which he will be shooting simultaneously), the actor has to beef up a little more. Catching up with the mediaNDTV reported Rampal explaining, “Arun Gawli was a thin guy. I have to lose a lot more weight to play his character. But then ‘Love Affair’ is happening before that so I had to gain a bit more of weight. Post that I’ll go back on a diet. Especially when you’re doing a true story and you want to do it correctly, you have to match the physicality of it as well.”

To be directed bySoni Razdan, ‘Love Affair’ will also be based on true events. The film will tell the story of the Nanavati case in 1959.

Here’s hoping Rampal’s drastic physique changes won’t do him any harm.
