Arjun Kapoor: “Yes, I’m doing Mubaraka”

There have been rumours that Arjun Kapoor would be seen sharing the screen with chachu Anil Kapoor for the first time in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Mubaraka’. Now, the actor has finally confirmed that he is starring in the film.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Kapoor said, “Yes, I’m doing Mubaraka. This is the first time I’m saying this formally. I was waiting for the producer to make an announcement, but there have been too many speculations”.

The film will be Kapoor’s first attempt at the out-and-out comedy genre. He adds, “Three years ago, I may not have been excited about a Mubaraka but today I am raring to do a com mercial comedy with the jodi that gave us No Entry and Welcome”.

His cousin Harshvardhan is all set to debut in ‘Mirzya’. He shares some advice for him, “For now he should focus on his work and not think too far ahead into the future. Yes, he is inclined towards a certain kind of cinema which I am not. But I’m sure he’ll do commercial films too when the time comes. I’ll continue doing a variety of roles regardless”.

Kapoor has also just wrapped up the South African portion of ‘Half Girlfriend’ which is directed by Mohit Suri. Talking about the title of the film, he says, “All of us have our chapters of unrequited love…You feel something for someone that you are unable to convey”.
