Arjun Kapoor signs '2 States'

After various actors being linked to Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala’s co-production ‘2 States’, BizAsia can confirm that Arjun Kapoor is the actor that has been signed up for the much talked about film.

The film, which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s famous novel will see the newcomer play the lead part after the success of his debut ‘Ishaqzaade’ (2012). While Johar and Nadiadwala will co-produce the film, ‘My Name Is Khan’ (2010) creative director Abhishek Varman, will direct ‘2 States’.

Nadiadwala who is currently in Europe confirmed the news to Times Of India, “I looked up to Karan’s father Yash Johar when I started out. Yashji was my friend, philosopher and guide. Whenever I needed advice, I’d drive to his Mahalaxmi office. So you see, my association with Karan is not new. For some time now, there has been speculation about this association. There has also been tremendous curiosity over the casting. The suspense is over. Karan and I are co- producing 2 States and Arjun Kapoor is our hero.”

Earlier, Imran Khan was associated with this project but this has now turned out to be untrue.
