AR Rahman unhappy with recreation of Masakali

After T-Series released the remix of ‘Delhi 6’ song ‘Masakali’ this week, it has received a rather tepid response from music lovers.

The track re-created by Tanishk Bagchi, has been rendered by Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon, Originally, the song was composed by AR Rahman, who has expressed his unhappiness at the new version. He took to social media to say, “No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors, and a relentless film crew.” – Lots of love and prayers A.R. Rahman.”

Rahman kept a humble tone in his message without directly bashing the makers of the song. He simply wrote, “Enjoy the original #Masakali.”
