Anushka Sharma is being applauded already for her appearance in the recent trailer of ‘Sultan’. As seen, the actress plays a wrestler, which looks refreshing. However, the actress wasn’t so confident about playing the role at first.

“Earlier, I was very scared as I don۪t look like a wrestler. We have a perception that wrestlers are of a particular size. I used to often question producer Aditya Chopra how can this happen (looking like a wrestler), ” the actress was reported expressing byThe Indian Express.

She went on, “But when I did some research I found out that there were people internationally who looked like me.”

After some training and a little more research, Sharma become a lot more confident in her character, as she explained, “I learnt the moves and the technical way of doing it (wrestling). I am very happy I did it as now if I see wrestling, I will come to know how it happens. I am grateful for the opportunity. I was sure we will not use body-double. I felt if I have learnt something, I want to show it properly. I worked hard and I am happy I got to do it.”

Despite looking effortless on screen, Sharma did explain that she was under a lot of supervision, and had enough training before the film started shooting. “I had a good team of trainers. I was prepared before the start of shooting for the film. Luckily, there were no injuries. But injuries can happen if someone is fighting or wrestling the whole life,” the actress said.

Also starring Salman Khan, ‘Sultan’ is a Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, which will hit the big screens on 6th July.
