Anurag Kashyap opens up about friendship with Shah Rukh Khan

Anurag Kashyap has always made it clear that he is one to stay out of most celebrity circles, however there are a few big names that he is in fact fond of. One big name is Shah Rukh Khan, who he revealed he has known before they both entered the industry.

“He is my senior from university, he has been there like a big brother helping me. Shah Rukh is super successful. When he loves you, he approaches things like, in my struggling years, (he used to tell me), ‘If you do what I tell you to do, your problems will disappear’. But I didn’t want him to make my life, I love him to death,” Box Office Worldwide reports the filmmaker expressing.

He went on to add, “Shah Rukh Khan wanted to do ‘No Smoking’ (2007), he was very upset when I went away from him. I also went to him with Allwyn Kalicharan. I wanted to do that with him and a big superstar from Hollywood. Everything was almost done but then again (it didn’t happen).”

Talking about how humble Khan has always been towards him, Kashyap walked down memory lane and spoke about going to the superstar’s house. “I was hungry and I walked into his house, using our college connection [both went to Hansraj in Delhi]. I remember him feeding me. He only knew how to make an omelette,” he reminisced.

Though Kashyap has yet to direct Khan in a film, there is much anticipation for them both to come together for a project in this way. Here’s hoping this will prompt such a venture for the both of them soon.
