Anurag Kashyap now spokesperson for ‘Udta Punjab’ producers

Anurag Kashyap

With ‘Udta Punjab’ being embroiled in a censorship controversy with the Censor Board in India, it seems producers are not wanting different voices to be heard when they are all united. It’s now been decided that only Anurag Kashyap will be speaking out on the issue.

“We have one producer, Anurag, talking about it and we have made a decision among us that he will only speak about this. I stand by that one decision we all made together, and we all want him to talk so that the points coming from the producers do not vary,” said producer Ekta Kapoor, according to TOI.

The film’s verdict will be given by the Bombay High Court on Monday, signifying what cuts should be made and also whether it will be able to release on time on 17th June. It’s an Abhishek Chaubey directorial which looks at the drug issues in Punjab. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh.
