Ankit Tiwari acquitted in rape case

Reports about Sunn Raha Hai singer and composer Ankit Tiwari’s ex-girlfriends allegations of rape against him shocked many. However, the singer has been acquitted, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.

The complaint apparently didn’t support the prosecution’s version, according to PTI, and therefore Tiwari was acquitted at a sessions court today. Tiwari’s lawyer, Rizwan Merchant, said, “The prosecution could not prove its case”.

Tiwari was arrested in 2014 after his ex-girlfriend accused him of raping her between October 2012 and December 2013 with a promise of marriage.
