Anil Kapoor acquires rights of ‘Nayak’; plans a sequel to the political drama
Anil Kapoor has officially secured the rights to the cult political drama ‘Nayak’, paving the way for a long‑awaited sequel. The rights were previously held by producer Deepak Mukut, who had acquired them from the film’s original producer A. S. Rathnam nearly a decade ago.
For Kapoor, the decision is deeply personal. The actor has often spoken about his affection for Nayak, in which he delivered one of the most memorable performances of his career. Sources suggest that the film’s themes remain close to his heart, prompting him to take ownership of the material and explore its potential further.
