Angad Bedi bags male lead in Hindi remake of ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’

It was reported not too long ago that director Jeo Baby’s Malayalam hit, ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ (2021), starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan, will be remade in Hindi. And there were quite a few filmmakers in the race to bag the rights. Producers Harman Baweja and Vicky Bahri were the eventual winners backing the project. And now, reports say the production have secured Angad Bedi to play the male lead in the Hindi version.

“Angad will reprise the role played by Suraj Venjaramoodu in the original. Director Arati Kadav and the producers felt that Angad suits the part well, and the formalities were locked recently. The movie is expected to roll in May or June,” a source said close to the development. ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ released last year on Amazon Prime and received a lot of critical acclaim. The movie even went on to win a few Kerala State Film Awards, reports Pinkvilla. Reportedly, Sanya Malhotra is the female lead.

Meanwhile, Bedi also has R Balki’s ‘Ghoomer’ in the pipeline, as well as ‘Panchgani,’ for which he was completed shooting for the first schedule.

Bedi was last seen in director Sharan Sharma’s ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ (2020) with Janhvi Kapoor, as well as the two seasons of ‘Inside Edge’ (2017).
