Anees Bazmee is all set to direct the sequel to ‘Aankhen’ (1993), titled ‘Aankhen Char’. It will be produced by Pahlaj Nihalani.

‘Aankhen Chor’ will be going on the floors in August this year. Confirming the news, Nihalani told Times Of India, “Anees has written Shola Aur Shabnam, Aazad, Andaaz and Andhiyan apart from Aankhen for me and it would be great to have him direct the sequel. He has a flair for comedy. Also, let’s not forget that Anees knows the pulse of the audience and ensures good box-office returns.”

The star cast and film details will be announced shortly. The original was directed by David Dhawan – the master of the comedy genre and starred Govinda in a double role. However, Nihalani plans to tweak the script a bit so that both the heroes are in double roles.

Bazmee’s other film – the ‘No Entry’ sequel has been postponed until next year.
