Ananya Birla becomes first Indian artist to sign deal with Maverick

Singer-songwriter, Ananya Birla has signed as a solo artist with The Live Nation-owned management conglomerate; Maverick, home to U2, G-Eazy, French Montana, Madonna, Pitbull, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney, Ricky Martin, The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign, Miley Cyrus, Aerosmith, among others. Poised as a noteworthy development for an artist of Indian origin, Ananya will be represented by Greg Thompson for strategic management and Matt Shelton for daily management of her career across all territories and all areas.

With this brand new transition, the multi-platinum selling pop sensation has further established herself as one of most exciting artists to watch out for on the international pop scene. She will now be dividing her time between India and United States to pursue brand new releases and collaborations at the onset of a new decade.

Ananya Birla states, “It’s a dream come true to be signed with Maverick! I can’t think of anyone I trust more to take care of me and my vision. To have Greg, who has such incredible repertoire and knowledge, give me direction and guidance, is just amazing. I cannot wait to take the next step with a true dream team.”

Veteran industry executive and President of Maverick, Greg Thompson adds, “Ananya’s energy and talent is infectious and it’s an honor to be working with such a great artist.”

Maverick was formed in 2014 under the Live Nation umbrella and also includes partner-managers Guy Oseary (Madonna, U2); The Blueprint Group (Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj); Wassim “Sal” Slaiby (The Weeknd, French Montana); Clarence Spalding (Jason Aldean); and Scott Rodger (Paul McCartney), among others.

The songstress, mental health advocate and young entrepreneur, has reached more than 300 million combined streams. A self-taught santoor and guitar player, Ananya has collaborated with artists including Sean Kingston, and AfroJack. Having performed at major Indian concerts including Global Citizen, Oktoberfest, and Sunburn, she dropped her debut EP Fingerprint in May last year and also supported Wiz Khalifa on his India tour.
