The much-awaited film adaptation of Gregory David Roberts’ bestselling novel ‘Shantaram’ will finally be seen on Apple TV+ as a 10-episode series. While most names associated with the project have moved on, Amitabh Bachchan may still be a part it.
The series will star Charlie Hunnam as the lead, while Bachchan is being considered for an important supporting role. However, it is not confirmed whether he will sign on to the project, since the shooting will not be taking place in Mumbai, Deccan Chronicle reported.
‘Shantaram’ was initially being directed by Mira Nair, who passed the torch to Garth Davis. The project is now being produced by Justin Kurzel, who will also direct the first two episodes.
