Amitabh Bachchan has spoke out about the “frightening” moment when he learned about the fire incident at the ‘Make In India’ event yesterday.

He said he was relieved that there no causalities during the fire, which gutted the entire stage at the cultural event. He was one of the attendees at the event but he left immediately after his appearance.

He took to Twitter to say, “What happened at event? I just finished my performance got off stage and sat in my car and left… Just then fire on stage broke!.”

“Production was wanting me to stay and go back on to meet the CM… Had I gone back would have been caught in fire.. providential. But its God’s grace that immediate action was taken and the fire brought under control… And no casualties !! But frightening!!.”

He described the scene further on his blog, “I ask to be excused. It would be a breach of protocol, from my side… I would meet up with him later… and leave… An sms comes to me soon after… ‘Are you safe?’

I am puzzled, I respond with a yes but why and then come to know of the fire that had immediately after my departure from the stage burst in and has engulfed the entire surrounding… The stage is gutted, it was massive in size, and anxious calls begin to come in, from all those that were seeing the programme on TV live.”

The 73-year-old said “it is providential”.

“Thank you all that have inquired from me of my well being and for all the prayers,” he posted.
