BBC Three has commissioned a special observational series based on World Champion boxer Amir Khan and his beauty influencer wife, Faryal Makhdoom.

The series titled ‘Meet The Khans: Big In Bolton’ gives viewers an access areas look into the dynamics of this young couple in Khan’s beloved Bolton as they juggle a young family, their relationship and career pressures under the glare of modern media.

The series is a part of BBC Three’s new commissions. Talking about this, Fiona Campbell, Controller, BBC Three, said, “It’s been an incredibly testing year for everyone but we hope that with programmes like This Country, Normal People, Glow Up, Young Offenders or Angels Of The North that BBC Three has offered some respite and an escape from it all. These new commissions represent a good cross section of where we’re going to next alongside our big returners like The Rap Game and RuPaul’s Drag Race. The Joey Essex film and Meet the Khans features figures that have had to struggle for success and are aspirational stories whereas Dance Crush is entertaining escapist content and Planet Sex is centred on themes and questions that are so important to our audience. There is huge creative potential at BBC Three and there’s more to come from us in the coming months.”
