Amazon bans the sale of Kodi boxes

Amazon has rolled out a ban on ‘fully-loaded’ Kodi boxes that are being sold through its website.

The online retailer is joining others in the industry to clamp down on devices that allow illegal streaming of various channels from around the world.

Daily Mail reports that the sales of Kodi boxes have gone through the roof after demand for software, which enables users to stream live and on-demand services on TV. The software is also easily accessible on the Amazon Fire Stick. Amazon is taking immediate action to prevent the sale of Kodi boxes.

Amazon’s policy states, “It is your responsibility to source and sell products that do not promote, promise the facilitation of, or actively enable the infringement of or unauthorised access to digital media or other protected content. If you sell these products, we may immediately suspend or terminate your selling privileges and destroy inventory in our fulfilment centres without reimbursement. In addition, if we determine that your account has been used to engage in fraud or other illegal activity, remittances and payments may be withheld or forfeited.”
