Alia Bhatt to take on expletives for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’?

Alia Bhatt has so far played some light-hearted characters but her ‘Gully Boy’ (2019) character saw her with some rage. However, it seems for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, she’s going one step further and learning new lingo.

“It is quite a culture shock for Alia to hear the way her character speaks. The cusswords are like a swearing-in ceremony into a world Alia never thought she could ever enter,” said a source close to the actress, as quoted by Deccan Chronicle.

The actress is learning to take on this newness, “She often has to ask the meaning of certain words that her character has to spew angrily. The unit goes into amused convulsions trying to explain what the profanity means”.

The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and will be his first collaboration with Bhatt.
