Alia Bhatt plays Bihari immigrant in ‘Udta Punjab’

Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ will see Alia Bhatt in a different avatar. In a film that the actress herself admits will be challenging for her, it has come to light that she will be playing an immigrant.

“Alia will be seen playing the role of a Bihari immigrant in Punjab. Alia’s character is a daily wage labourer who comes to Punjab for job prospects.��Alia has never acted in this space before. In her previous films, she has always played an urban girl. However, this is the first time her character comes from a rural background,” said a source to Movie Talkies.

The film also stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
