Alia Bhatt on playing Sharmila Tagore for Pataudi biopic

There is no doubt that Alia Bhatt is currently conquering the world of Bollywood, so it isn’t surprising that Bhatt has been asked to do a biopic when the opportunity arises.

In a recent interview in the Times Of India, Bhatt revealed when the legendary Sharmila Tagore told her that, should a Pataudi biopic is made then she would like Bhatt to play her part.  “Strangely, I had just met her in Singapore, where she was present for a poetry reading with Javed Akhtar. I had the chance to interact with her and she told me that she had really liked ‘Kapoor and Sons.'”

Feeling honoured by this gesture, Bhatt added, “When legends like Sharmila ma’am and Shah Rukh Khan say things like that to you, it feels really, really good! Not only because you are being appreciated but because, we, as an industry, are more like a family. So it is akin to being praised by the elders of the family and you are touched by their gesture.”#

The ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016) star is definitely up to the challenge saying , “If the opportunity presents itself, I hope I perform it well.”
