Ali Raza, the Chief Operating Officer of popular British Pakistani channel, Prime TV has quit after nearly ten years in charge.

Raza who’s main duties at the station included heading the operations of the channel, plus overlooking the sales and marketing, resigned yesterday.

During his time at Prime TV, Raza has successfully made the channel what it is today and a leader in it’s genre. He was also instrumental in making Prime TV the first ever Asian TV channel in the UK to subscribe to BARB. He also signed up the first ever Turkish drama to air on British Asian television.

At the time of filing this report, BizAsia was awaiting a response from Raza. He was unreachable. BizAsia understands that Raza is seeking new opportunities. With the changes amongst Pakistani channels in the UK, we’re quite sure Raza will be easily snapped up by a major broadcaster.

In the last month, Sunil Rohra has left B4U Network after heading the broadcaster for ten years, then came the news about Rajan Singh leaving Star TV and now Raza. Who follows next? Watch this space!
