Akshay Kumar’s hidden past in ‘Brothers’

The much awaited Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Brothers’ has had rave reviews for its first promo that was released last week. Kumar and Malhotra will be seen as wrestlers in the film and director Karan Malhotra revealed that Kumar is playing a physics teacher with a hidden past.

To Pinkvilla, Karan revealed, “This is the first time Akshay Kumar will be playing a Catholic in a film. He will be playing David Fernandes. For the role, Akshay has lost 17 kilos and has a lot of tattoos. Since Akshay is playing a Catholic man, my crew went to the bylanes of Bandra and met people, saw the tattoos they had and also the way they speak. In the film Akshay has a Jesus tattoo on his arm and a cross on his wrist.”

‘Brothers’ is produced by Karan Johar, and also stars Jacqueline Fernandez alongside Kumar and Malhotra. It is slated to release on 14th August.
