Akshay Kumar who is getting ready for the release of his forthcoming film ‘Padman’, has commended his wife Twinkle Khanna, who has made her debut as a film producer, and for making a film with great content.

Reported on Asian Age, Kumar couldn’t praise Khanna enough, saying, “She is a great producer,”… “She has a good sense of great content and what kind of films she should make. Padman was her idea; it’s her content and Balki wrote it.”

Khanna also know as Mrs Funnybones, took a short story from her book titled ‘The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad’, inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham from Tamil Nadu, who revolutionised the idea of produce low cost sanitary pads for rural areas of India and now his story has been turned into a film.

Kumar who made his debut in the late 1980’s, say he has come a long way since he first started his career in Bollywood. Given the name of Khiladi, Kumar shared how had been made to feel like an outsider back in the day, “Yes, I was made to feel like that,” said the ‘Airlift’ (2016) actor.

Further adding, “I remember while doing two-hero movies, three or four of my films didn’t work, but the other actor’s did. We had an equal role, but he would get a suite and I would get a single room,” he sighs, without naming the actor. “He’d get an amazing car but I would be asked to come in the bus. Yes, that really happens! If my films work, I’d get a bigger room. Sometimes when my films would run well, I’d be shifted to first class from business class. When my films did exceptionally well, I’d even get a private jet.”

‘Padman’ is slated to release in cinemas on the 25th January, ahead of Republic Day, but risks clashing with the much anticipated and talked about movie of 2017, ‘Padmavati’, which is now releasing on the same day.
