After Sahara One, FILMY gets ready for revamp

Sahara’s TV channels in the UK are finally making headway by announcing the launches of several new innovative shows.

As BizAsia.co.uk reported last week, its flagship entertainment channel Sahara One will be launching a new drama produced by Paresh Rawal called ‘Main Aisi Kyun Hoon’, starting at 20:30 on Monday 22nd October.

Over on Sahara’s movies service FILMY, comedy show called ‘Jigar Ma Badi Aag Hai!’ will launch, which will star TV favourites Neena Gupta, Kanwaljeet and Sunil Grover (of ‘Kaun Banega Champu’ fame).

Speaking about the show, Suchita Shah, Senior Supervisory Producer – FILMY said, “FILMY has always strived to entertain the masses through innovative film based programming, be it movie jockeys like Lallan or original software like Kaun Banega Champu and Rokkky’s 99. With clich̩d Hindi film plots and dialogues that have acquired cult status over the years, and with music and treatment that is 100% FILMY, Jigar Ma Badi Aag! is an out an out comedy show, that could not have been anywhere else but on FILMY!”

‘Jigar Ma Badi Aag Hai!’ comes on the back of the success of FILMY’s reality talent show ‘Bathroom Singer’, which is shown on Sunday nights. In the pipeline, the channel also plans to launch, what it has dubbed the “biggest Bollywood quiz show” ‘Bollywood Ka Boss’, which will be hosted by Boman Irani.

‘Jigar Ma Badi Aag Hai!’ launches on Sunda
