Aditya Thakur stands down as CEO of ZEE Network UK/Europe

Aditya Thakur is leaving his post as CEO of ZEE Network UK/Europe.

Confirming the developments exclusively to BizAsiaLive.com, Thakur said, “It’s been an incredible experience setting up ZEE5 on its explosive growth in this region. We’ve had an incredible journey where we started our transition from linear to digital and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in a very short period of time with a lean but very talented team.” His final day in office is today, Friday 4th September.

Despite the challenges in the UK Asian television market, Thakur has been instrumental in the huge uptake of ZEE5 in UK/Europe. He joined ZEE Network UK/Europe as CEO in February 2019. Prior to that, Thakur was worked with YuppTV and Lebara.

Parul Goel will take interim charge of ZEE UK/Europe operations.

Incidentally, Thakur is the second huge media executive to step down from his position. Earlier this week, BizAsiaLive.com exclusively revealed the departure of Star TV’s International Head, Guneet Anand leaving later this month.
