Abhishek Bachchan talks about ‘Happy New Year’ & supporting Chelsea

Abhishek Bachchan

In a candid interview with London Live, the capital۪s first 24/7 entertainment and news channel, Abhishek Bachchan spoke about his latest film ‘Happy New Year’ and being a Chelsea supporter. ‘London Go’ caught up the star to talk about why the unusual mix of a jewel heist and dance championship makes for the ‘quintessential Bollywood film’ and what affect fame has on his grocery shopping. He also told the channel what he loves most about London – besides Chelsea FC. The interview will be broadcast in tonight۪s episode of ‘London Go’.

Commenting on what he likes to do in London, he said, “You’re going to laugh at me but my wife and I like to go grocery shopping. If there’s a farmers market then you go there otherwise you go to Tesco. It’s our biggest high to take a trolley and just go because, I don’t know if people understand it but, we just don’t get to do it. In India, you can’t just step out of our house and… in India you can’t do these normal things! We (wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) love to go to Hyde Park and just go for a walk and now, with our daughter, we love to take her and feed the swans and stop for that. Just to doing the normal things, I love doing that in London, and then of course going to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea play. I love the club۝.

Elaborating more on his love for Chelsea FC, he said, “I did a film in 2006 called Jhoom Barabar Jhoom in which my character, Ricky, was a United fan and I refused to do the film, I told them to change it, I wasn’t doing it unless they made him a Chelsea fan. Thankfully they agreed and I go to do the film.”

Concluding the interview, Bachchan told the broadcaster about his love for films, Indian films are very similar to our food , which is like the Tali. In which you have your desert, you have something spicy, something sweet, something sour everything in one and that is what our films are like, so it has everything.۝
