Aamir Khan sceptical about joining Sanjay Dutt biopic

Aamir Khan makes it no secret that he is a perfectionist who always gives his best to every role.

To Khan, the movie ranks higher than the star. Rumours of him declining the protagonist’s role in ‘Rang De Basanti’ (2006) are well known. He opted for his protagonist’s role instead whilst the main role eventually went to Sidharth.

However, the star, who will be marking his 52nd birthday this month, seems to be sceptical about playing the father figure to the new and young brigade of Bollywood stars, including the likes of Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, reports Deccan Chronicle.

Though the actor played a senior citizen in his most recent blockbuster, ‘Dangal’ (2016), he played father to two relatively known newcomers to the industry.

However, recent reports say that Khan declined the role of Sunil Dutt, in Rajkumar Hirani’s highly hyped upcoming Sanjay Dutt biopic. When Hirani invited Khan for a narration of the biopic, he was in for a shock when he was narrated Sunil’s part. “I thought you were coming to narrate the role of Sanjay Dutt. I am not interested in playing the role of his father,” Khan was allegedly quoted as saying.

The role eventually went to Paresh Rawal, after being passed over by Akshaye Khanna, and Kapoor will be seen playing Sanjay Dutt in the film.

Khan will next be seen in ‘Secret Superstar,’ and will soon start filming ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
