Aamir Khan not releasing ‘Dangal’ in Pakistan

Aamir Khan will not be releasing his Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dangal’ (2016) in Pakistan after cuts advised by the censor board in the country.

Mumbai Mirror reports that the scenes in questions were involving the Indian flag and the anthem to edited out. Confirming the news, Mobashir Hasan, Pakistan’s Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) head, said, “Yes, the board unanimously decided to skip two scenes. The decision is the collective wisdom of the board.”

A spokesperson for ‘Dangal’ said that the cuts were crucial to the spirit of the film and decided against the release.

The ban against Indian films releasing in Pakistan was lifted earlier this year.
