Rakul Preet Singh was first female choice for ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’

Rakul Preet Singh, who has earned a name for herself in the Telugu film industry, is now excited to work with Neeraj Pandey in his film, ‘Aiyaary.’

Singh’s stock is rapidly rising. The star is working with her dream director in Pandey, as well as starring alongside her favourite co-star in Sidharth Malhotra, reports the Hindustan Times.

“Sidharth is one of the best among the current generation of actors in Bollywood. With his choice of films, he has established himself well in the industry and is continuing with the good run. It’s a pleasure to work with him. I’m also excited to work with Manoj Bajpayee in the film. He is one of the finest actors we have right now,” says Singh, who plays an IT professional in the movie.

Singh, who made her Hindi film debut with ‘Yaariyan’ (2014), is a popular name in Telugu cinema, and starred in films such as ‘Venkatadri Express’ (2013), ‘Bruce Lee – The Fighter’ (2015) and ‘Nannaku Prematho’ (2016).

She was in Delhi recently, to shoot for her second Bollywood project, and will visit the city in the first week of July for another schedule. Regarding Pandey, Singh was full of praise. “I’m someone who has always loved Neeraj sir’s films. I missed the opportunity of working with him in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). I was supposed to play Disha Patani’s role [of Dhoni’s ex-lover] in the film, but couldn’t take up the project because I was busy with my Telugu projects. This time, when Neeraj sir narrated the script [of Aiyaary] to me, I immediately said yes. The plot [of the film] is very interesting,” she says.

Her next Telugu film is ‘SPYder’ by AR Muragadoss and also starring popular star, Mahesh Babu.
